2019 NEWS

All 2019 registration activities will be online only.  Registration opens on January 19th, 2019.

INCOMING PLAYERS

Incoming players will be expected to play with their grade (7th Grade – 13U level, 8th grade – 14U level, 9th grade – 15U level).  The CBL board makes the final determination based on the number of players at each level.

HELMETS

Due to safety concerns, CBL is now requiring that players provide their own batting helmet. CBL will no longer supply batting helmets for player use.

REGISTRATION

MYAS/Gopher State Baseball is a community-based program. Participants must be from the community in which their parent or legal guardian resides or in which they attend school. Exception: In situations involving "split families," the athlete may participate with the association closest to the mother’s or father's residence. Players will have the opportunity to try on jerseys, pants and hats at the tryout session. All players must have a copy of their birth certificate on file with CBL. If you played last year, we likely have your birth certificate already. If you are new to the league, please mail the birth certificate to CBL, PO Box 456, Circle Pines, MN 55014, or bring a copy with to tryouts.

To Register:  You must register online. To register, please log on to www.centennialbaseballleague.org. You will create your own secure account, including User ID and Password. CBL does not have access to any User ID’s, Passwords, or payment detail. All of your personal information is secure and backed up by our third party payment processor.

Payments:  League fees will be paid online at registration with VISA or MasterCard. All other charges associated with our costs to maintain the website and provide online registration are covered by your league fees detailed below. All fees are due at registration or team acceptance. Non-payment of fees will result in the roster spot being offered to another candidate.

Additional Costs:  The fees stated below DO NOT cover additional tournaments the team might decide to play. They also do not include tournament “gate fees” charged by tournament hosts. These are ADDITIONAL COSTS that will be incurred by the team members as they participate in tournaments. Each family will be assessed a $40 non-refundable field usage and maintenance fee and a $25 non-refundable equipment and facility improvement fee.  These fees are in lieu of volunteer hours.

Questions: Direct all registration questions to the League Administrator.

VOLUNTEER COACHES

A head coach is needed for each Gopher State and North Star team. Each head coach selected will receive a refund of ½ of one son’s fee at the end of the season. We can only offer playing opportunities to the extent we have volunteer coaches. In other words, if we don’t have enough volunteer coaches, we must limit the number of teams and playing opportunities offered.  If no volunteer will step forward to coach, the CBL board will work to hire a paid coach. The registration fees listed below do not include the fee to pay the coach, unless otherwise stated. A background check is required for all coaches. Questions regarding coaching opportunities should be directed to the League Vice-President listed above. If you are interested in being a head coach please fill out the CBL Coaching Application. Completed applications should be e-mailed to [email protected]

TRYOUTS

All 13-15U players are required to tryout.  Tryouts will be spread over two days, one will consist of fielding skills and the other will consist of hitting skills.  We use independent evaluators for the tryouts. There will be specific details and times on the website as these dates approach. There will be no makeup sessions or scheduling accommodations for tryouts, so you will need to make every effort to attend. There is a $45 tryout fee and a $225 registration deposit* that is paid at the time of registration. Both payments are non-refundable.
Note: The registration deposit is credited toward the program fee.
